“Initiation by the Guru is necessary. Why? Because it is the bringing of yourself into connection with that great source of power which has been handed down through generations from one Guru to another, in uninterrupted succession. The devotee must seek and accept the Guru or spiritual preceptor as his counsellor, philosopher, friend, and guide. In short, the Guru is the sine qua non of progress in the path of spirituality.”

OUR INSPIRATION

The seeds for Dharma Farms were sown in 2012 when we first met our Guru, His Divine Holiness Sri Nithyananda Paramashivam. Hindu scriptures universally extol the importance of having a Guru to guide us across the ocean of worldly existence. Sri Nithyananda Paramashivam’s lifelong mission has been to revive and restore Hinduism to its authentic roots and make it user-friendly for modern humanity.

The core elements of Hindu civilization are the temple, the Gurukul (traditional residential school), and the Goshala (cow sanctuary). These three institutions form the foundation from which the enormous material and spiritual wealth of ancient India sprang forth.

Dharma Farms represents our humble attempt to bring traditional Goshala back to life to be experienced in all its depth and vibrancy, not just something to be read about in history books. As always, we express our sincerest gratitude to our Guru for his guidance and blessings in our endeavors.
